Texas Gov. Wants to End Education for Immigrant Children

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott may attempt to overturn a long-standing Supreme Court ruling that mandates public school education for all children regardless of citizenship or immigration status. 

Right-wing politicians have been emboldened to reverse many judicial decisions since the high court's openness to overturning abortion rights leaks. Abbott joins others in attacking many high court precedents that include the right to contraception and forced birth regardless of the danger to the mother's life. 

Many fear that any ruling may also undermine birthright citizenship. Ending birthright citizenship has been a long-term goal of many "conservative" groups over the past few decades.
