NRA Flies Into Indy and Lands On Heated Debate
April 17, 2023
The National Rifle Association annual meeting was held in Indianapolis this weekend. As NRA supporters flew into town, it will not be the roar of Indy racecars they heard; it was the cries of a newly heated national conversation about gun safety measures.
Of course, we must admit that when it comes to gun violence, so far this year, we have not had two weeks without a mass killing. So is there any good time on the calendar for the NRA?
The gun manufacturer executives have done an almost miraculous act of hiding behind the NRA. As the gun merchants hide in their executive washrooms, they have, with one or two exceptions, won the battles and seemingly the war on Capitol Hill. The voices of young people in Tennessee on the eve of their voter eligibility, added to the bullhorn of young legislators fighting to be heard, have brought new vigor to the gun safety debate.
2023 is on track to be the deadliest in America yet. The work we do together today by adding our vigor and passion to the renewed debate sparked in the gallery, hallways, and steps of the Tennessee Capital building can make a difference in curtailing the grim statistics we now face.
At Latinovoterusa.com, we will continue our commitment to amplifying your voice, engaging your priorities, and taking action today for the future of our youth, families, community, and nation.
