Cuellar Declares Victory -Cisneros Waits for Votes
May 24, 2022
It turns out that not everything is big in Texas. The race to lead the 23rd Congressional District in Texas has a tiny mini-vote margin. As of 1 AM today, incumbent Henry Cuellar was leading by only 177 votes. The super-slim margin was not enough to stop Cuellar from tweeting, "The votes are in. The margin will hold..."

Candidate Jessica Cisneros, however, is not ready to concede and countered with "...we are still waiting for every ballot and eligible vote to be counted."

Due to the historically small margin of votes between the two candidates, the "losing" candidate will have the right to demand a recount. Texas Public Radio has the story, which you can read by clicking here.
