Becerra Name Splashed as California Governor

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra's name has been splashed across newspapers, news sites, and insider message boards this month. The Biden Cabinet member is, if you believe the pundits, considering a run for California Governor.

Insiders tell LatinoVoterUSA.com that key members of the Latino political leadership in California have been urging the former State Attorney General to enter the race.

Becerra has been traveling the country to make sure that key constituencies are aware of the efforts that the Biden Administration has made on behalf of all communities regarding health promotion, especially the issue of women's reproductive freedom.

As Gavin Newsom terms out of office, the field to replace him is becoming incredibly crowded. However, if he were to enter the race today, Becerra would be the only political figure to have held statewide office in California. Notably, the current State Attorney General, Bonta, may well enter the race in the coming months.
